It all began with a simple dream on Bugis Street—one small stall, a few beloved recipes, and a big desire to serve food that feels like home. That's how Makan Mate started: not with grand plans, but with the joy of seeing someone take a bite, smile, and say, "This tastes good, like how my mom makes it."
Over time, that little stall grew—slowly, steadily, fueled by the people who kept coming back. Today, we're still rooted in that same heart, but now we get to share our food with even more folks: the hardworking industrial workers who need a filling, satisfying meal to power their days; the families and teams planning functions who want food that's kind to both budgets and bellies; and the growing group of friends in Singapore's West who've made us their go-to for no-fuss, delicious eats.
